⚠️ So, Where in TF Have I Been?

Jokes aside, I didn’t “take a break,” I didn’t “pause to reflect,” and I definitely wasn’t sitting on a beach with a Pina Colada planning my Q4 content calendar.
Over the past six months, I relocated across states - left Portland with one suitcase and landed back in San Diego. Not for fun. Not for sunshine. Just one of those “life made the decision for me” moments.
I became a single mom overnight. Not the Pinterest version - the real one. The kind that comes with school meetings, “can you come get him?” phone calls, therapy appointments, and paperwork that never ends.
If I wasn’t dealing with court filings and deadlines, I was figuring out how to stay afloat. I’ve been in a multi-state custody situation that’s demanded a lot of time, energy, and mental bandwidth.
And financially? I had to start over. No job, no steady income, no safety net. The bootstrap fund went from “we’re fine” to “okay, cool” real fast.
So yeah - the newsletter didn’t exactly make the priority list.
And then I did what I always do when life tries to kill me
I turned into a f*cking savage and went straight into execution mode.
I launched a campaign and sent this ONE message to my network:
“Hey, I’m looking to take on 1–2 fractional gigs while I build BLKBOOK. Know anyone who needs demand gen, RevOps, GTM, or events? A warm intro would really help! 🙏”
And then sh*t POPPED OFF:
Within week 1 → 12 calls booked.
Week 2 → 9 more.
Within 2 weeks → 2 new clients.
Within 1 month → Intro to SundAI Club.
Within 2 months → My own apartment.
Within 3 months → Fully furnished and back on my feet.
I worked with a major agency leading outreach campaigns for huge conferences like the DevUp Conference, the Data Innovation Summit, and Alibaba’s Co-Create. Yes, Alibaba. I was working directly with their head of global marketing. Tell me the universe doesn’t have jokes.
Then I stepped in as a fractional CMO for a cannabis startup - which, if you know that industry, it’s like trying to navigate a field of landmines with a blindfold on.
And now? Both of those client cycles wrapped up. I’m back to building BLKBOOK, pushing the MVP forward, and figuring out this next chapter - as a founder, as a single mom, self-litigant and as a human who has definitely seen some sh*t.
So, while BLKBOOK is in the final stretch…
I’m taking on 1-2 companies for hands-on GTM and pipeline work while BLKBOOK finishes up.
